ABOUT
Alexis Proels is a photographer known for work that balances ruthless with empathy. His images are often playful yet sincere, capturing moments that feel immediate and emotionally authentic.
Born in the 1980s and raised in Wuppertal, he discovered photography early and began shooting concerts and parties for local promoters at the age of sixteen. Those experiences shaped his instinct for candid moments and strong personalities.
In 2005 Proels moved to Berlin, where the city’s vibrant cultural landscape influenced his photographic perspective. Surrounded by artists, musicians and nightlife, he continued developing a style focused on people, atmosphere and character.
In 2011 he returned to NRW, where he continues to work and expand his photographic diary of encounters and places.
Music and street photography remain his artistic passion, capturing the pulse of culture and everyday life. Alongside this personal work, Proels also photographs events with professional precision, documenting concerts and gatherings with the same attentive eye.
Rather than seeking the spotlight himself, Alexis lets his photographs speak.
